Regency Era Cotton Percale Day Dress — 19th Century Historical Gown with Fall-Front Bodice — Convertible Beige Regency Dress with Floral Pattern

This refined gown is an historical reconstruction of an original early 19th-century cut. The model is crafted from high-quality 100% cotton percale in a delicate beige shade, adorned with a picturesque period pattern of intertwining twigs and flowers in lavender, ochre, and dusty red tones.

The primary design feature of this attire is its original double sleeves: long, tailored sleeves are worn underneath the voluminous short puff sleeves on cuffs and are designed to be completely detachable. This thoughtful detail allows for an easy transformation from a closed outdoor outfit into a light summer variation for warm weather.

The bodice features a traditional square neckline with a graceful, dense gathering at the bust, transitioning smoothly into the high waistline. Absolute historical accuracy is provided by the authentic fall-front (apron-style) closure. The front of the bodice has a functional split construction, which is first secured with lacing over an internal white insert, after which the outer percale section is raised and discreetly fastened at the shoulders. A thin fabric belt ties at the back of the waist, securing the deep historical pleats of the skirt.

The exceptional value of this garment lies in the cotton lining of the bodice, which is attached entirely by hand using antique sewing techniques, guaranteeing a historically correct fit over period undergarments. The skirt is tailored in a single layer, ensuring a flowing silhouette and making this practical gown a magnificent choice for promenades, countryside picnics, and historical festivals.
